Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 16, 2025
At Unpackly, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Unpackly Chrome Extension.
TL;DR: We collect anonymous usage statistics (like how many surveys you unpack) to improve Unpackly. We do NOT collect personal information, survey content, or emails you search. You can opt out anytime in Settings.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Usage Analytics (Optional)
With your consent (enabled by default, opt-out available), we collect anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 to understand how Unpackly is used and improve the extension.
| Data Collected | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Event counts | Understand feature usage | "User unpacked 5 surveys today" |
| Feature interactions | Identify popular features | "Data Mapping generated 10 times" |
| Anonymous client ID | Distinguish unique users | "client_abc123xyz" (random) |
| Environment type | Understand usage context | "Sandbox" or "Production" |
1.2 Local Storage (Required for Functionality)
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Data Center Configurations: URLs you configure for Broadcaster searches
- Usage Metrics: Total surveys unpacked (displayed in the extension popup)
- Preferences: Your analytics opt-out preference

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected anonymous analytics data to:
- Improve Features: Understand which features are most valuable
